 Environmental Sampling Technicians 

 

Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) is a growing and innovative environmental service provider for several sites across the United States. FTS is headquartered in Carnegie, PA and has numerous branch offices.

Responsibilities include travel to various sites across the United States performing sample collection of but not limited to groundwater water, surface soil, sediment, waste water and storm water. Field duties include water level data collection, field parameter collection, well and site inspections and data collection using Mobile Management Data Collection (MMDC). Work also includes managing tasks with pre- and post-field activities such as maintaining field instruments, prepare equipment for future events, and preparing field activity reports. The individual will work under the direct supervision of Project Manager or Senior Technical personnel. Weekly travel is required.

 
 Qualifications: 
  • Minimum B.S. degree in environmental science or related sciences with 0 - 4 years of professional experience in conducting work under CERCLA, RCRA and state voluntary action programs;

  • Working knowledge of state regulations a plus;

  • OSHA 40-hour training preferred;

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Knowledge of GIS application a plus;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a project team; and,

  • Valid driver’s license.

 Environmental/Industrial Field Technician 

 

Responsibilities include field work, mechanical/electrical upkeep and troubleshooting (voltage and resistance testing of 3P motor control wiring and hardware) for groundwater pumping systems, daily routine inspections of groundwater treatment system, sampling of groundwater, air, and soil. Experience working with PLC logic, process controls, mechanical systems, pneumatic pump maintenance, hydraulic filter press maintenance, air compressor maintenance and waste water treatment plant operations.

 
 Qualifications: 
  • High School diploma or equivalency. Technical school certificate in industrial maintenance / electrical-related field preferred;

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance / construction field or related experience;

  • Strong mechanical ability;

  • Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license required as a continuing condition of employment;

  • Working knowledge of New Jersey state regulations a plus;

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work alone, dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized;

  • This position will require working in inclement weather;

  • Equipment operation experience a plus (excavator, dozer, skid-loader)

  • MIG/TIG welding a plus.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a project team: and

  • OSHA 40-hour training preferred

 Wastewater Plant Operator 

 

Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) is a growing and innovative environmental service provider for several sites across the United States. FTS is headquartered in Carnegie, PA and has numerous branch offices. FTS is currently seeking a licensed Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in the Northern Panhandle who possesses, at minimum, a West Virginia Wastewater Operator Class S license. The candidate must be willing to travel to several sites within the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.

 
 Position Responsibilities 
  • Oversee operations of treatment plants, pumps, and equipment for permitted uses; Inspect and perform routine maintenance on all treatment plant equipment (electric motors, pumps, valves, etc.

  • Troubleshoot issues within treatment systems and complete / coordinate repairs as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate record keeping such as operating records/logs, flows, pressures, and chemical inventories where applicable.

  • Collect and test water samples to determine constituent concentration.

  • Order chemicals and other supplies for treatment process where applicable.

  • Communicate with Supervisors and Operator trainee(s).

  • Perform work in accordance with client and/or FTS’s Safety Policy.

 
 Preferred Qualifications 
  • Minimum Class S Wastewater License with one year experience in a wastewater treatment plant

  • OSHA Hazwoper 40 Hour Training

  • Excellent verbal, written, record keeping, and organizational skills

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Valid driver’s license

 
 Physical Requirements 

 

This position requires one to be able to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate computers and machines. One is also required to pass a preliminary physical exam which includes ability to kneel, stoop, bend, carry, push, pull, grip, and climb. One may be required to lifts over 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Candidate must pass a mandatory drug evaluation prior to employment.

 
 Hours 

Candidate must be willing to work regular business hours, evenings, weekend, holidays, on-call and as needed. Schedule will be set by the operator to cover operational needs of the treatment plants.

All required safety and other training required for the position will be provided by the company.
