Environmental Project Manager 

 

Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) has an immediate need for a full-time, Environmental Project Manager based out of our Carnegie, PA office

General responsibilities include project and staff coordination, proposal preparation, planning, execution, and completion of environmental assignments while ensuring projects meet regulatory compliance, budget, and project completion deadlines. Travel is necessary in certain instances. 

Candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work alone (and with team members), dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized. This position requires working outdoors and, at times, in inclement weather. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 
 Preferred Qualifications 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in environmental consulting/construction or related field required;

  • Excellent organizational skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Strong problem solving and management skills;

  • Highly motivated and client focused;

  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a project team and multi-task environment;

  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather;

  • Environmental media sampling experience;

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Education/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Earth Sciences or Environmental/Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university is preferred.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is preferred.

  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety certification is preferred.

  • Valid drivers license and good driving record is required.


The Salary Range for this position is $75,000 - $108,000, depending on education and experience.

Environmental Field Technicians 

 

Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) has ongoing opportunities for full-time, Environmental Field Technicians based out of our Carnegie, PA office

General responsibilities include travel to various sites across the U.S. performing sample collection of ground water, surface soil, sediment, waste water, and storm water. Field duties include water level data collection, field parameter collection, well and site inspections, and data collection using multiple electronic applications. Other duties include field activity planning and post event reporting. Necessary training is provided. Weekly travel is necessary in certain instances. 

Candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work alone (and with team members), dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized. This position requires working outdoors and, at times, in inclement weather. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 
 Preferred Qualifications 
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent;

  • Preferred B.S. degree in Environmental Science or related sciences with 0 - 2 year of professional experience;

  • Working knowledge of state regulations a plus;

  • OSHA 40-hour training preferred but will provide;

  • Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Knowledge of GIS application a plus;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a project team; and,

Environmental Sampling/O&M Technician 

 

Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) has an immediate opportunity for a full-time, hybrid Environmental Sampling / Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician based out of our Kearny, NJ officeThis position will also require travel to various sites across the U.S. to perform the mentioned environmental activities.

General responsibilities include sample collection of ground water, soil, sediment, wastewater, and storm water at local sites (NJ). Field duties include water level data collection, field parameter collection, monitoring well inspections, facility inspections, data collection using multiple electronic applications, and data entry.

 

O&M responsibilities include field work such as vegetation management, minor mechanical/electrical upkeep and trouble-shooting of groundwater pumping systems – under the direction of FTS Site Supervisors. Experience working with mechanical/electrical systems and basic computer skills a plus but not required.

Candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work alone (and with team members), dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized. This position requires working outdoors and, at times, in inclement weather. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Industrial Wastewater Technician/Operator 

 

Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Industrial Wastewater Technician/Operator based out of our Kearny, NJ office.

General responsibilities include chemical batching for industrial waste water treatment; inspect equipment or monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine water treatment system operational status; collecting and testing water and wastewater samples, using field testing equipment and color analysis standards; record and prepare routine reports for operational data on specified forms/electronic data summary logs and spreadsheets; operate and adjust controls on equipment to treat wastewater for inorganic and organic constituents; maintain, repair, and lubricate equipment, using hand tools and power tools; clean and maintain tanks, filter beds, process conveyance lines, pumps and other work areas using hand tools, power tools and mobile equipment (lull, fork lift, loader); coordinate plant workers engaged in routine operations and maintenance activities; troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical systems and controls from 12 volt DC to 480 Volts AC; and, assist in all levels of operation, maintenance and monitoring of industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Knowledge sets include use and practical operational/maintenance knowledge of the following: Air monitoring equipment (PID), granular activated carbon and multimedia filtration equipment, centrifugal pumps, chemical feed pumps, air operated diaphragm pumps, inclined plate clarifiers, filter press operation, perform field screening utilizing colorimeters (HACH), conductivity/dissolved oxygen/pH/ORP meters and analyzers. Power supply system operation and basic trouble shooting, ability to read design/as-built/P&ID diagrams, able to utilize iPad based HMI operational system to observe and adjust treatment system operations. General understanding of supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA systems, general proficiency utilizing desktop computers (Microsoft Office software – Outlook, Word, Excel).

 
 Education & Experience 

Applicants should have a High School Diploma/GED. Candidates who hold a New Jersey N license (N1-N4) are highly preferred. Candidates interested in obtaining a New Jersey N-license are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for tuition reimbursement. Eligibility for a Licensed Operator in New Jersey requires a combination of experience, 90-hour educational course prerequisites and passing the New Jersey N-license Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator exam. Maintaining a license requires completion of continuing education every three-year recertification period or successful retesting.

 

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • High School diploma or equivalency. Technical school certificate in industrial maintenance / electrical-related field preferred;

  • Strong mechanical ability;

  • Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license required as a continuing condition of employment;

  • Ability to travel the immediate northern and central NJ area daily

  • Working knowledge of New Jersey state regulations a plus;

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work alone, dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized;

  • This position will require working in inclement weather;

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
